![]() ![]() Joined by a crystal dragon that has the power to morph into whatever its companion needs, Kazer will venture forth and collect allies in a bid to defy the authorities-an outfit that brand the protagonist as “inhuman”.Īs for what sorts of mischievous activities the duo will get up to remains unclear, though from the looks of the gameplay, both Kazer and the morphing sidekick won't always see eye to eye, and will, for the most part, fight for control over what goes.Īccording to the devs, Kazer will be at the epicenter of a war-torn world-a realm in which authorities pull the strings. Lost Soul Aside will center its universe around Kazer, “following his accidental merger with the symbiont Arena”-a supernatural race. Question is, what is the story here, and how will players tie in to it exactly? Story ![]() That said, UltiZero Games has shared a rather generous amount of information in its seven-plus years in active development. Minus the fact that it'll take a few pages out of Square Enix's book, there's still a fair amount we don't actually know about the upcoming RPG. Serving as one of the key titles in the China Hero Project-a Sony-led program that aids local video game development in China-the highly anticipated IP will be gearing up for an ambitious 2024 launch on PS4 and PS5. To put it short, Lost Soul Aside is an upcoming action RPG by UltiZero Games. Lost Soul Aside: what is it, exactly, and why should you be giving it your undivided attention ahead of its 2024 launch? What Is Lost Soul Aside? Point is, if you're even the slightest bit curious about the upcoming action RPG, then you'll definitely want to read on for the full scoop. But then, that doesn't mean it's void of any details or footage to help whet eager fans' appetites. Of course, we're still a ways off from seeing the once-soloed project come to fulfilment. And it will, truly, if not this year, then in 2024. Since then, well, it's fair to say Sony has every reason to feel compelled by it, and not to mention eager to see its roots flourish into something magnificent. As well as looking great the game has fantastic sound. Before Sony and UltiZero Games reached out to lend their aid, Lost Soul Aside was merely a vision-a small-scale project conjured by one independent yet inspiringly ambitious developer known as Yang Bing. The fact just one guy started this is truly amazing! It looks like a AAA game as the presentation is so well done. It was the presentation that initially drew me to this game. As well as being like Devil May Cry, I think there are little bits of Bayonetta in here as well as there looks to be a slow motion “witch time” kind of ability too. For example, we see Kazer jumping across this collapsing bridge and it looked like it was all in real time with the player being in full control and it not being a quick time event. It has fast-paced hack and slash style gameplay that is very stylish, but there is also some very interesting platforming in Lost Soul Aside. Remember how I just said that Kazer reminded me of Dante? Well, the whole game actually has a kind of Devil May Cry thing going on. This is being referred to as a “crystal dragon” by the developer, but this creature can transform into anything that Kazer may need, we have seen him transform into a weapon and even a surfboard! There is some fun banter between Kazer and the Crystal Dragon too and this creature, whatever it is, is able to communicate with some of the other creatures in this land. One of the most interesting aspects of Lost Soul Aside is Kazer’s “friend”. He wants people to join his cause, but he is being hunted down by the authorities who refer to him as “inhuman” which sounds very interesting, it is impossible not to get Dante vibes from this dude! The game has a very sci-fi kind of vibe, with a little bit of fantasy sprinkled on top and that is a style that I am very much into.
